In 2004, Deserticola™, a microalgae contributing to a healthier global ecosystem through greenhouse gas reduction, was first isolated in the Californian desert by Professors Lewis and Flechtner of the University of Connecticut.
Fast forward to 2019, the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology successfully enhanced the Loliolide compound within Deserticola by approximately 12 times, earning a patent*. Building on this achievement, a patent application** for a high-concentration 'Composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth using Loliolide' was filed in 2020.
